My Background
I began my social work career working in foster care serving the special needs population including infants impacted by drugs and alcohol and HIV/AIDS. I then expanded my work to include infant, international and older children adoptions.

It was hard to believe that after all my years working in the field, my husband and I struggled to get pregnant. After giving birth to our son and twin girls with the assistance of ART (assisted reproductive technology), I took a year off of work. I was then offered a position preparing individuals and couples who were hoping to adopt. I wrote (and continue to write) international and domestic home studies. Given my personal and professional experience, it was the perfect job for me; until I wanted to delve deeper into my client's struggles, well beyond the scope of my job. At that point, I made the decision to open my practice.
Since starting my practice I have written for a holistic fertility center's newsletter, spoken on post adoption depression, presented for National Infertility Awareness Week and served as the mental health provider for a support group hosted by an adoption consultant. In addition, I have coordinated with fertility clinics to provide counseling and
complete known donor assessments.
